So because I'm really that much of a masochist, like having evidence to support my complaining, and it showed up on [info]ohnotheydidnt, I did actually see SGU.

For the record, I was.... unimpressed. There were a couple of unintentionally funny moments, a few big giant hams, and a lot of bad acting. (Need I mention the writing?) And the RDA, Shanks, and Tapping appearances were pretty much a joke. The longest any of them showed up was maybe five minutes.

Now I'm going to have a beer and a couple of ibuprofen and hope that it makes my headache go away.

I'm not liking Keller any more. Between the Rodney/Keller pairing (not to mention the love triangle of doom), the fact that she's practically schizophrenic with the constant changes to her character, and the fact that she's in like every single episode this season while Teyla's pretty much MIA, I'm finding it really hard to find something to like about her. At first she was sweet and new and seemed like a nice enough character. I wasn't crazy about her, but at the same time I didn't understand why people hated her. (Besides the fact that she wasn't Carson. That's kind of silly.)

Now I think I get it. The woman has at least three episodes where she's a major player. Three. That's more than any of the other regular cast. Teyla has one. (Sort of.) Ronon had one. Rodney had one and has another coming up. John doesn't seem to have one that really focuses on him. (Remnants doesn't count. Neither does Vegas.) Neither does Woolsey. Carter didn't last year. This is the last season of Atlantis and it's feeling like the Jennifer Keller show.

So mom and I are rewatching Rising parts 1 & 2 (her favorite episode(s)), and I realized something.

I miss nerdy!Daniel with his big round nerdy glasses. Now we have hero!Daniel with the trendy rectangular glasses who sometimes nerds (now with occasional bursts of anger and drama), who is fine except nerdy!Daniel is the Daniel I fell in love with when I first started watching SG-1, and they're just not the same.

So, Stargate Atlantis.

This episode was sad. But it's easily one of my favorites this season.

This is a part of a fic that is demanding to be written entirely in tiny snippets and I can't seem to make them any bigger. At some point I'll try to put them together, but until then, I'm going to post them in little bits to gauge interest.

SGA, Teyla and 6-year old John Sheppard. 66 words. (See? Tiny. And entirely spoiler free.) )

A tiny reaction to Quarantine. Spoilers, obviously. )

4 days until London!

Things to do later today:
-Laundry
-Pick up anything I might need to take with me that I don't have at home.
-Locate the stuff I do have at home.
-See what Mom's food plans for the week are, and help with prep if possible.
-Study for math test on Tues.
-Finish memorizing monologue for acting class on Tues.
-Avoid going to Powell's while downtown with Christine.

Laptop+Coffee+Time out of the house=Happy Cassie

Saw Stargate Atlantis, and part of SG-1. Both of them now have to be in my top ten episodes. Especially Vengeance, which made me think of the Alien movies that used to traumatize me when I was little. The Shroud was actually not as dark as I thought it would be, which was a good surprise.

Missed the first half of Supernatural because all the tvs in the house were being used at the same time, which was very annoying. Next week looks damn good though.
